Hi i just bought a SY-300. I got two questions. 1 - Can we use all of the 5 (Wave, LFO etc.) in the same time in the 3 OSC ? 2 - I made a sound and i realy like it and i just want to had a simple slow attack. Like a PAD sound. Where can i find it ? Thanks for all of your videos. Very helpful.

Man this sounds too much like a guitar with 4 strings more than a bass at a higher tuning

Breaking the wire without pkiers is a great tip!! Wish i new that yesterday. Broke A string 5 min before start of gig. Replaced without cutting by holding it over the slot and winding a few wraps round the peg. Messy, and unreliable but worked for a temp fix. But now the string is junk and buying new set to install p roperly.

Seeing and hearing your video made me wish I was a bass player who lived in Burnley and was getting lessons from you Scott! The Boss SY 300 looks and sounds like a lot of fun too.🙂

What gauge of string do you use with this guitar? I tried 45-100 and i need to tighten neck all the way up to have straight neck.

I am an experienced musician, played bass in a number of signed bands in the 80s (although bass was always my ‘other’ instrument, despite always loving the purity of it) and I’m enjoying going through these videos for ideas and concepts I might have missed or knew intuitively without knowing that idea as a ‘thing’. Nice! One of the best pick style players out there who is known more as an amazingly talented finger style player is Geezer Butler. He absolutely slays it with a pick as he does finger style.

Why is it that musicians seem to be a dying breed? Maybe too much short-cutting with lazy sampling on ‘hey I can make a tune’ software. It’ll never replace this knowledge of music theory and the ability to actually play an instrument. If it wasn’t for channels like this on RUclips (and my own personal music collection) I don’t know where I’d get my fix. Cheers Scott 👍🏼

the pdf link doesn't work anymore. I know what the major scale is. Is it most helpful to just memorize the numbers for the scale? I know the notes of the fretboard as well. I have been playing reading chord charts for decades, but for some reason I am struggling with switching to nashville numbers charts.

hi I've been playing off and on for years now, but i could never figure out why my slap technique was poor, trying one of your lessons has lead me to one of the reasons, I'm muting with my right hand all the time! here's me trying to follow the lesson and it dawned on me that the was ive always muted was how i was taught with the fleshy part of my right hand thumb. now at 66 years old, im gonna find it hard to change but im gonna have a go, wish me luck😅 ive only just stumbled across you, Scott, but great vids, nicely laid out easy to follow(specially the slow bit) im looking forward to finding more

I have a CD you did a long time ago because ( Colin Jones ) gave it to me as a keen up/ slap on the backside. on it you comprehensively and totally accuratley did Mark Kings 1988( ?) live at wembly solo. is there any chance at all you could do an instuctional video of that?
